CKD and you

True stories of how Choi Kwang Do works in real life, not just in the classroom! Taken from Jack Watson’s Orpington Choi Kwang Do school.

Well over 20 Orpington students have been attacked in the last twenty years. All except one, who was taken by surprise, dealt successfully with their attackers. Here is one example:

“I’m going to kill you!”

These words rang out at a local petrol station as a man who had just been bullying a woman customer ran aggressively towards one of my Choikwangdo students who had dared to speak up for the lady customer.

My student used a sidekick and a round punch to stop the attacker in his tracks as the other customers applauded. He had to rely on his confidence, training and skill to protect himself. No one else was rushing to his aid!

Could you have handled a similar situation? If not, why not start training in Choi Kwang Do - one of the most effective and healthy martial arts in the world?

Of course, you need to avoid crossing the line from self-defence to causing unnecessary harm. You may only use enough force to protect yourself or your family and this can be a grey area.

Regular training is necessary to give you the confidence and skill to use what you learn. Some training will be better than nothing and may even save your life. However, I recommend training long enough to reach your black belt at least.

Over twenty Orpington students have dealt successfully with knife, bottle, road rage and gang attacks.

CKD and self defence for Women

1 in 10 women and girls in the UK currently experience some kind of violent attack. Usually the attacker strikes when no one else is around to help the victim. Clearly it is important for every woman and girl to learn to protect themselves.

The best advice is to give them your money or mobile phone etc. but what if they want to show off to their friends by beating you or your family up?

Self-defense for Women teaches:-

women how to avoid dangerous situations

what to do if they find themselves in such situations

what to teach their kids to keep them safe

and much more
